Private nutrition accountability · iPhone
Keep your logger.Add a teammate.
Turn the nutrition data you already track into a private daily check-in with one person you trust. Nobody logs food twice. Nobody sees your diary.
- Works through Apple Health
- No duplicate food logging
- Status-only by default
- You control every metric

Keep your logger. Add a teammate.
The missing layer
You already do the hard part. Logging.
What is missing is someone who notices, without a group chat, a shared account, or a new app to log in. Daypair adds the accountability layer your nutrition app is missing.
Screenshots get forgotten.
Sending your day to a friend works for a week. Then someone forgets, then it feels like nagging, then it stops.
Shared food diaries expose too much.
Sharing a logger account means every meal, every note, every number. Accountability should not cost you your privacy.
Switching loggers is a nonstarter.
Your app already knows your targets and your history. A second place to log is a second thing to abandon.
How it works
Four steps. One private loop.

Together
The two of you, versus the calendar.
Every day both of you check in, the run grows. An honest “not met” counts as a closed day, because showing up is the practice. There is no leaderboard and no score between you.
- Three days together
- A full week
- Two weeks strong
- A month of you two
- Two months
- A season
Only ever reached
A milestone, once earned, stays on the shelf. A lapsed run takes nothing away.
No countdowns
The next milestone is a named horizon, not a deadline.
Never a contest
Milestones belong to the pair. No one wins the day over the other.
Support, not pressure
Close the loop without another chat thread.
A check-in is one tap from a short, approved list. It never carries a number. Your teammate answers with one word. That is the whole conversation, and it is enough.
What you can send
- “Quick check-in when you have a minute?”
- “I’m closing out my day—want to check in too?”
- “No pressure. Sending a little support.”
- “Nice work showing up today.”
How your teammate answers
At most 2 check-ins per person per day, quiet hours respected, and you can mute them entirely. Notifications never include nutrition values.

Honest data
Source-aware. Freshness-first. No guessing.
No data is not zero.
A missing sync is shown as “no recent data”, never as a failed day. Every shared status carries when it was last updated.
One source, counted once.
Pick which app Daypair counts. Totals are never summed across apps, so a second writer cannot double your numbers.
Refreshes when you open it.
Foreground refresh is guaranteed; background refresh is best-effort and never promised. Freshness is always visible.
Edits and deletes are respected.
A rolling window is re-read, so a corrected entry in your logger corrects your day here too.
Compatibility
Daypair is designed for nutrition apps that write compatible daily totals to Apple Health. MacroFactor is an initial validation target. Supported app, version, and metric combinations are published here only after they pass real-device testing.
| Source app | Metrics | Published status |
|---|---|---|
| MacroFactor | Energy, protein, carbohydrate, fat, fiber | In validation. Not yet published. |
| Other Apple Health writers | — | Untested |
Third-party names are used nominatively. Daypair is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or integrated directly with any nutrition app. If Apple Health has no compatible data, manual check-ins work from day one.
Built like a utility you keep
Calm at 7am. Legible at midnight.
A daily habit surface has to disappear into your routine. So it follows your system settings, reads aloud, and never asks you to squint.
Light and dark
One semantic token layer; every pairing contrast-tested in CI.
Dynamic Type
No fixed heights. The layout grows with your text size.
VoiceOver
Every status has a spoken form. Every control has a name.
Reduce Motion
Everything that moves becomes a crossfade.
Never color alone
Status is a fill, an icon, and a label. Always all three.
Native feel
iOS interaction patterns, 44-point targets, haptics that settle.

Pricing
The accountability loop is free.
Daypair Pro adds depth for pairs who want more history and more than one pact. Your privacy controls are never behind the paywall.

Daypair Pro
Monthly or annual, through the App Store. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency.
- Longer history
- Multiple pacts
- Weekly recaps
- Advanced schedules
- Smart reminders
Restore purchases and manage subscription are always one tap away. Deleting your account is separate from cancelling a subscription; the app tells you both.
Private beta
Apply as a pair.
A useful account needs a teammate, so the beta takes pairs: two people, two iPhones, four weeks, and honest notes on where it breaks. TestFlight, no charge.
- Both people 18 or older
- Both on iPhone
- A nutrition app that writes to Apple Health, or a willingness to use manual check-ins
Questions
Straight answers.
If a question is missing, the support page has a person behind it.
Do I have to leave MacroFactor, or whatever I log in today?
No. Keep logging in your preferred app. Daypair reads supported daily totals that your app writes to Apple Health. There is no food logging in Daypair at all.
Can my teammate see everything I eat?
No. Your teammate never sees your food diary, meal names, or your source app. Status-only sharing is the default. A progress band or exact totals are separate choices you make per commitment, and you can change or pause them any time.
Does Daypair set my calorie or macro targets?
No. You define the commitments you want to be accountable to, using the targets you already have. Daypair does not provide nutrition targets, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Does it work automatically all day?
Daypair refreshes when you open it and may refresh opportunistically in the background. Every shared status shows when it was last updated, so a stale number is never mistaken for a current one.
What if Apple Health has no nutrition data?
Use manual check-ins. You mark a commitment yourself; your teammate sees the same status-only view. The privacy model is identical.
Is there a leaderboard, a wager, or a penalty?
No. Pacts are private, two-person, and cooperative. Milestones belong to the pair. Nothing is scored, nothing is owed, and nothing is lost when a run ends.
What happens if I want out?
Pausing sharing, leaving a pact, blocking a person, and deleting your account are all in the app, never paywalled, and take effect immediately for what your teammate can see.
Is it on Android?
Daypair is iPhone-first and reads Apple Health. Both people in a pact need an iPhone today.
